"Servants, obey in everything those who are your earthly
masters, not only when their eyes are on you as pleasers of men, but in
simplicity of purpose [with all your heart] because of your reverence for the
Lord and as a sincere expression of your devotion to Him. Whatever may be your
task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and
not for men, Knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [and not
from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [real] reward.
[The One Whom] you are actually serving [is] the Lord Christ.” (Colossians
3:22-24) Amplifier
This message is a confirmation of
what God has kept in the kitty with counsel to create the balance between the
life tripod: work, family and you. Sometimes we appear to be burnt out because
of pressure, dissatisfaction, chaos and lack of fulfillment. Here is God's
counsel concerning you:
Take Your Case to God: Some of the matters that plague our heart include dissatisfaction in the
workplace with regards to promotion delay, denial, under employment, under
estimated in terms of remuneration, many are insulted, some complain about
their difficult bosses, just because it is time to experience the frustration
about work. Some also complain that their work place, whether self-employed, or
employee, we discover that where we work just does not cut the mark. There must
always be something that would make it imperfect. They all have their own
issues but we mostly concentrating on the problems rather than the problem.
Some complain about lack of recognition, under-worked, overworked, etc. but the
scripture says that when we come we must come with thank giving even as we take
our case to God. Do not allow your circumstance to take away your joy. Keep
trusting in God.
Obey Your Master: We must obey our masters in the flesh whether he or she is wrong. Sometimes, we think we are smarter than our boss. Truly you may be smarter, more intelligent, but no boss would want to be told he or she is slow. These are spiritual matters. Colossians 3:22 told us that, “we must obey our masters in all things with singleness of heart without eye service.” In everything you do, secularly or in church, you do it for God. If you want to grow in everything, respect the hierarchy. 1 Timothy 6:1 says, “we should obey our masters so we do not give shame to God.” Wherever you are if you do not follow authority, you bring shame to God. Titus 2:9 says, “we should obey without arguing.” The spirit of humility and obedience, the Lord would give to us in Jesus’ name. Amen
Do All Things Joyfully: This is the way unto greatness. Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatsoever ye do, do it unto the Lord joyfully as unto the Lord, not unto man.” You must humble yourself before God so he could lift you up. So do whatsoever you are told to do not minding anything that is brought your way. You must decide that regardless of who you are working for or with, the motive behind it and regardless of what the task, the grace to do it heartily, the Lord will give in Jesus’ name.
Desire More But Learn to Rest in the Lord: Work harder, stay harder, stay pure, do not defile yourself, seek greener pastures but wait for God’s time. Every blessing that God has for you is for an appointed time. It always has a date attached to it. Some hurry to quickly to go get big jobs but today they have faded away. Also we need to be cautious about decisions we take and we must not be swayed by the glamour. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He makes all things beautiful in His time.” Regardless of the carrot, discuss it with God before you take a step. Hebrews 4:10-11 says, “He that has ceased from his labour has entered into the rest of the Lord.” May the Lord not allow us to go ahead of Him or to run ahead of Him in Jesus’ name. Amen!
Don’t Trade a Way Your Gold: We should be careful what we wish for and how hard we wish for it. Be careful who we envy? Psalm 106:15 says, “Some do not allow God to rest, God granted their request but sent leanness to their souls.” Please Pray Like This: Father helps me to rest in you regardless of situation and circumstance. Help me to look up to you in all situations. I surrender my labour and my entire life to you. Thank you Jesus!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION: If Elijah with his legs could overtook Ahab who was on a horse, then, this year you will overtake those who have gone ahead of you. You will overtake those who are more talented and intelligent than you. You will overtake those who are more gifted than you. You will overtake those who are more connected than you. Your God will restore those wasted years.
Whether it is convenient for the enemy or not, you will overtake your superiors. And despises shall become the celebrated, the servant shall become the master, the poor shall become the performer, and the zero man/woman shall become the Hero… Now, the power of God will come upon your life, you will overpower lions in their den, and you shall paralyze any power that is working against your destiny, in the name of Jesus Christ. If you believe this, say a powerful Amen!
